David Watson has been a volunteer since 2008 and Director since 2014 at the non-profit Shadowserver Foundation, the world’s largest provider of free, public benefit cyber threat intelligence. He leads their Special Projects Team, who have quietly provided behind the scenes technical support to international Law Enforcement partners on many of the largest cybercrime disruption efforts globally. David regularly presents and teaches classes at information security events, and is passionate about helping network owners and cybercrime victims better defend themselves using freely available tools and information sources. David was previously the Chief Research Officer and a Director of the Honeynet Project (2006-2016), helping develop and deploy open source cyber security tools worldwide.
