SUSTAINABILITY AT CYBERUK 2025 |
Creating a sustainable event is an important aspect of our goals for 2025.
Find out more below about how we are planning to reduce our impact for CYBERUK 2025.
New for 2025 we are giving delegates the option to add a donation to offset their emissions caused by travelling to the event. We would always encourage the use of public transport where possible but also understand that this is not an option, especially for those travelling from overseas.
Being able to offset any emissions caused by travelling to CYBERUK is a great alternative to help reduce event impact.
CYBERUK 2025 are working with onboard:earth who specialise in tackling travel impact for the events industry and work with partners to fund environmental restoration.
When donating to carbon offsetting within your registration, you will be contributing to a range of programmes:
TREE+ - donations are used to plant trees to help with carbon capture. onboard:earth work with different projects across the globe to help vulnerable ecosystems and communities. Typically a £25 donation to Trees+ will offset around 1 tonne of carbon, plant 7 trees in Northern Malawi and protected 6 acres of threatened rainforest through project partners.
ENERGY REVOLUTION - donations are used to invest in community energy cooperatives. onboard:earth work with a variety of programmes to help create a more sustainable future within the community, which can include installing solar panels, setting up wind turbines or engaging schools in educational programmes.
We really appreciate any donations to help us to reach our sustainability goals for CYBERUK 2025. Your donation will support both global and domestic onboard:earth sustainability projects.
As part of our commitment to minimise our impact on the environment, we have chosen to work with a venue and suppliers that have sustainability front of mind.
Manchester Central are committed to ensure sustainability is at the heart of everything they do. Their sustainability strategy, “Our Central Future” aims to delivery initiatives that enhance the sustainability of the venue and the services provided to all delegates. You can read more here.
There will be water points throughout the venue to fill up reusable water bottles.
Your lanyard can be recycled: place your badge and lanyard in the recycling boxes at the end of the event.
Information is shared electronically where possible to reduce paper waste.
We ask for your support as together we can make a difference and demonstrate our commitment to sustainable events.
