Name
Tech Talk Series 4 - How to Justify Security Investments With Actual Evidence
Description
How do you move board-level conversations away from fear, uncertainty, and doubt? Often the hurdle isn’t a lack of awareness, but a lack of empirical proof. This session equips security leaders with the tools to build data-driven narratives that justify critical investments.
We will dissect how to integrate DFIR root-cause analysis, industry telemetry, and academic studies with a frequently overlooked metric: insurance claim correlations. Through the lens of three high-impact case studies, we demonstrate how to overcome internal friction and prove the ROI for:
- Moving from legacy perimeter appliances to a zero-trust approach.
- Navigating user pushback to deploy phishing-resistant MFA.
- Demonstrating the value of Managed Detection and Response over relying on an internal SOC.
Participants will leave with a toolkit of quantitative cyber risk data and the critical thinking skills required to translate technical evidence into a compelling board-level story.
