She was appointed by the UK Defence Secretary as an external reviewer on the UK's 2025 Strategic Defence Review. She is an Associate Fellow at Chatham House, and a Council Member of the European Council on Foreign Relations. Earlier in her career, she spent 10 years in the UK Diplomatic Service. including as foreign policy PS to Prime Minister Tony Blair in 10 Downing Street.
