Helen is the Head of the Office of the CTO in NCSC. After graduating with a Physics degree, Helen has enjoyed postings in a number of government departments including the Ministry of Defence, the Insolvency Service and GCHQ. Her National Security career spans hardware and software technical teams as well as sociotechnical. Helen led the NCSC’s “Assurance Grand Challenge”, developing a new approach to Technology Assurance which enables the UK’s future digital growth ambitions, whilst gaining confidence in the security of the critical services and technologies on which we rely. Her work focused on enabling the development of the technical standards and implementation across the threat spectrum, including the recent Software Security Code of Practice.
