Richard Crowther leads an engineering team at Google Cloud working on cloud projects where security and sovereignty are paramount. Richard brings his deep technical and security expertise from his time in the public sector, where he was the NCSC’s Deputy CTO and Chief Security Architect, as well as a technical leader in the Ministry of Defence who established the Digital Foundry. During his time in the public sector Richard was responsible for creating the NCSC’s Cloud Security Principles and a wide portfolio of security architecture guidance, as well as playing a key role in shaping the UK government’s Cyber Assessment Framework used to measure cyber resilience in the UK’s Critical National Infrastructure.
