CYBERUK 2022 Terms and Conditions



1. Use of the CYBERUK 2022 Application to Attend website

1.1 CYBERUK 2022 is run by the NCSC and the CYBERUK 2022 registration website is hosted by Aventri. The terms and conditions for use of the Aventri registration system apply equally to this CYBERUK 2022 registration website (https://www.aventri.com/terms-conditions) In the event of a conflict, the terms and conditions of this CYBERUK 2022 registration website will prevail.

1.2 In addition, the following terms and conditions apply to the CYBERUK 2022 event.

2. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016 and The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003.

2.1 By completing and submitting the CYBERUK 2022 registration form, you consent to the personal data contained in the registration form being collected and used by the NCSC as data controller in common with Aventri for the purposes of supporting you and your organisation at CYBERUK 2022, including to contact you about CYBERUK 2022 and CYBERUK 2023 events. CYBERUK 2022 is managed by Bray Leino, who will also act as data processors within the scope of the event, however, use of your personal data by the contractor will only be authorised for the purposes indicated above and your data will not be sold to third parties.

2.2 In addition, the NCSC may use your personal data to provide advice and consultancy, to inform you of relevant events, to manage any enquiries or complaints, to manage the issue of any documentation you may request and to administer your membership of any NCSC schemes and to send you other related information.

2.2.1 If for any reason you do not wish to be contacted by the NCSC you may opt out by e-mailing the NCSC Events Team: events@ncsc.gov.uk with ‘Opt Out’ in the subject line. Please be aware that you will still receive communications from the NCSC regarding CYBERUK 2022 in order to receive important event information.

2.2.2 We will process any personal data you provide in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016 and will also comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003. Under this legislation, we have a legal duty to protect any information we collect from you. We use leading technologies and encryption software to safeguard your data and keep strict security standards and data processes to prevent any unauthorised access to it.

 3. Registration and security

3.1 You can submit an application to attend as an individual to attend CYBERUK 2022 by using the application page on this website. All applications are subject to NCSC approval.

3.2 By completing and submitting the CYBERUK 2022 registration form, you enter into a binding agreement with the NCSC to participate in the Event based on these terms and conditions abiding you get confirmed to attend the Event.

3.3 If you register, the details you provide will be further verified by the NCSC. Subject to the NCSC’s approval, your details including your name and email address would be stored securely on the Aventri system in accordance with our privacy policy.

3.4 Note that travel and accommodation should not be booked until your place is confirmed by the NCSC and all registration information is collected. The NCSC are not liable to refund this should you not be successful.

4. Online payment terms and conditions

4.1 Use of the CYBERUK 2022 online payments facility on this website indicates your acceptance of these terms. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the online payments facility.

4.1.1 You become liable for the full payment of the price with the submission of your application.

4.1.2 The price for participating is shown on the application page. VAT will be added to the total price for paying delegates.

4.1.3 No important Event information required to attend or participate in the event will be issued to you until full payment has been received.

4.2 Variations or Amendments

4.2.1 If, for any reason, the NCSC or Bray Leino have to change any of the arrangements relating to the Event we will inform you forthwith and use reasonable endeavours to minimise the impact of the changes.

4.3 Cancellations and Refunds

4.3.1 Cancellation by the NCSC

Should the NCSC need to cancel your registration for any reason you may be eligible for a full refund. The NCSC is not liable for any expenses associated with your booking (including but not limited to travel and accommodation).

4.3.2 Cancellation by you

For paid places only, if you are unable to attend, you may nominate a replacement, subject to approval by the NCSC, at any point up to and including 25 April 2022 (after which point substitutions cannot be accommodated). Please e-mail events@ncsc.gov.uk and cc cyberuk-events@brayleinoevents.com with any name change requests.

4.3.3 If you are unable to attend CYBERUK 2022, and are not able to transfer your place to another person, then the following refund arrangements apply:

  • Cancellations made on or before Monday 04 April 2022 will be refunded 50% of the fees
  • Cancellations after Monday 04 April 2022 will not be eligible for a refund.

4.3.4 Where internet payments require an authorised refund to be applied to the transaction, the payment will only be refunded to the card making the initial payment.

4.3.5 For Public Sector free-of-charge passes, replacements and name changes are not possible. If you are unable to attend, you are obliged to cancel your registration on the Aventri system. If you would like a colleague to attend, they will need to submit a separate registration on the system so that they can be verified by the NCSC.

4.3.6 Cancellation due to force majeure/act of God

Neither party shall be in breach of its obligations nor liable for any failure or delay in performance of any of its obligations if the event is cancelled or abandoned or suspended in whole or in part by a force majeure event which is beyond reasonable control of either of the Parties including but not limited to acts of god, civil unrest, natural disaster, COVID-19, change of law, act of terrorism or vandalism. The NCSC / Aventri shall not be liable to refund to your fees if the event is cancelled due to a force majeure event / as a result of COVID-19

5. Termination

5.1 You agree that the NCSC in its sole discretion, may terminate your use of the service, and remove and discard any content within the service, for any reason, including, without limitation, lack of use or the NCSC believes that you have violated or acted inconsistently with the letter or spirit of the terms and conditions.

5.2 The NCSC may also in its sole discretion and at any time discontinue providing the service, or any part thereof, with or without notice. Further, you agree that the NCSC shall not be liable to you or any third party for any termination of your access to the service.

5.3 The NCSC will not be liable in contract, tort or otherwise for any indirect or consequential losses, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of use, costs or expenses, or other claims whether caused by CYBERUK 2022 its employees, contractors or agents arising from you taking part in the event.

6. General

6.1 You agree to use this site only for lawful purposes, and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of this site by any third party. Such restriction or inhibition includes, without limitation, conduct which is unlawful, or which may harass or cause distress or inconvenience to any person, and the transmission of obscene or offensive content or disruption of normal flow of dialogue within this site.

6.2 The above Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

6.3 You agree to follow and abide by Welsh Government's COVID guidance whilst attending CYBERUK 2022.
