This presentation will be delivered by the Sophos Incident Response Team and Counter Threat Unit (CTU) and cover both live and pre-recorded demonstrations of some of the techniques that we have seen being leveraged by Ransomware groups over the past year.  

Delegates will get to see the attack from a Red Team perspective and then get a Blue Team demonstration as to how to implement either detection or prevention measures to help mitigate the risks of these techniques.  

The purpose of this workshop will be to try and show just how basic some of these techniques are and to highlight that with just minimal technical skills, attackers can easily be very destructive. But it we'll also demonstrate that with a comprehensive cyber security posture, any organisation can implement measures to help reduce the impact of a potential ransomware attack.
