Tim Mitchell is a Senior Security Researcher and the cybercrime assessment lead in Sophos’s Counter Threat Unit (CTU), a global team of experienced threat analysts who, through the application of established intelligence practices, deliver actionable and timely intelligence products on the threats most relevant to Sophos’s customers. After over a decade spent investigating and tackling cybercrime, he is an authority on the subject. While he maintains an overarching view of cybercrime, he is a subject matter expert on ransomware and the specific threat it poses to organizations. Prior to joining the CTU in 2015, Tim spent over 12 years working in intelligence analysis roles across a variety of disciplines at the National Crime Agency (NCA).
